Mrs. Lawson has practiced estate and trust law for 24 years and has been certified since 1993 as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Mrs. Lawson has had an office in Cameron Park since 1987, practicing exclusively in the areas of probate, trust administration after death and estate planning. Mrs. Lawson has served since 2002 on the Executive Committee of the Trusts & Estates Section of State Bar of California, contributing to the ongoing development of new laws in the area of estates and trusts, and gives her time as a lecturer at continuing education courses for attorneys presented throughout the state. She has been a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and of the El Dorado County and Sacramento County bar associations. Mrs. Lawson has contributed time to her local legal community as a past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the El Dorado County Law Library, a past President of the El Dorado County Bar Association, a past Chair of the Probate Section of the El Dorado County Bar Association, a temporary judge in the probate department of the Cameron Park branch of the El Dorado County Superior Court and a member of the bench-bar committee which developed local rules for the probate court in El Dorado County. Mrs. Lawson is a 1984 graduate of Western State University College of Law, Fullerton, and received her B.A. Phi Beta Kappa from U.C. Irvine in 1979. |
